Meet Oscar Nominated Director and Prolific TV & Film Composer Kris Bowers
Not only is Kris a well respected TV & Film composer working with legends like the late Kobe Bryant and Aretha Franklin, he is nominated for an Oscar this weekend.
Oscars are just around the corner and I wanted you to know the name of our friend, Kris Bowers, who has been nominated for co-directing the short film “The Last Repair Shop.”
While this is his second Oscar nomination for directing a short film (first being “A Concerto is a Conversation” in 2021,) he is most well known for composing music. His name can been seen on screens everywhere for his work on “Bob Marley: One Love” which passed 100M at the box office, “Bridgerton,” “The Color Purple,” “Inventing Anna,” “Space Jam,’ the Oscar’s Best Picture-winning “Green Book.”
Kris attended Juilliard and received his Bachelor's and Master's in jazz performance. He was mentored by Aretha Franklin and has worked with icons like Kobe Bryant, First lady Michelle Obama and more. He is barely in his 30s and has quickly become one of Hollywood’s favorite composers (read article here.)
