Meet Former NBC EVP and Producer Behind "The Office" and "Ugly Betty": Teri Weinberg
Share

Continuing our Coffee with KP: Covid Collection series, today we’re talking to Teri Weinberg, current President of Yellow Brick Road Productions, Former EVP at NBC Entertainment, Producer behind mega hits like “The Office” and “Ugly Betty,” and Talent Agent at ICM. I met Teri many years ago and keep up with her on IG (she inspires excellent health and practices what she preaches with exercise and taking care of yourself!) If you want a career as a writer or executive in TV development, this is a MUST listen.

Teri attended Arizona State University and earned her Associate of Arts in Architecture. After realizing that interior design wasn’t for her, she got a job at ICM and worked her way up through the Agent Trainee program. After her days as an agent, she then became one of the producers behind the award-winning “The Office,” “Ugly Betty,” and most recently, Netflix’s “Gentefied.” She also served as the Executive Vice President at NBC Entertainment, overseeing all aspects of NBC’s scripted development and primetime programming, before forming her own production company Yellow Brick Road Productions in 2009.

In this episode of “Coffee with KP,” you’ll learn about the process of an idea becoming a hit show, advice on how to seize opportunities, and an example of tenacity (and timeline) it takes to get a show on the air!
