To round out “Coffee with KP: Week of Love,” where we highlight entertainment industry professionals who not only love their jobs (and tells us in detail what they do) but have worked on a project that has to do with love, dating or romance.

In this replay of CWKP, we’re chatting with Yvette M. Amirian, ACE editor and Eddie-nominee behind Amazon’s 2023 Christmas movie ”ExMas,” Netflix’s “Dating Around,” and many more. I met Yvette when she was a student at USC and I was a guest speaker back in 2006.

Yvette is a USC Graduate of its School of Cinematic Arts, where she discovered and developed her passion for editing. Since graduating, she has worked consistently in non-scripted tv, documentary and in film. In 2011, she received an Eddie Award nomination for her work on Animal Planet’s Whale Wars, and most recently, the A&E documentary she edited and produced L.A. Burning: The Riots 25 Years Later was nominated for an Emmy.

In this episode, you’ll learn why you shouldn’t always ask someone for “coffee” (networking as a freelancer is very important and you will learn how she does it naturally,) what it means to be a member of a union (in this case, IATSE) and the truth about being a mom, wife and a freelancer (this is the most real conversation about the challenges and potential downsides for woman in particular that you MUST consider if you are going to work as a freelancer.)
